Fun and friendship in Northland, a backpacker's story
The story starts in Auckland where most of the backpacker story begins, it is about fun and friendship that you make along the way. It was right in the middle of the summer and we all had a calm down in our activities, perfect timing for a city break. We passed by their office on Beach Rd (even the name of their street sounded already like holidays) booked the car and the day after we would be ready to go.
After a short night planning that week, we would do the Northland: here we are Whangarei, Bay of Islands, Cape Reinga, Omapere..... With a tight budget on, off we go !
We will of course for ever remember the lighthouse of Cape Reinga, Spirits Bay (probably the best beach we've ever been to so far) the amazing sunset in Omapere, but the point of our story is elsewhere. In fact the most enjoyable memories we’ve got is the people that we’ve met along the way. Lezz & Glenn, Jeff & Angela and Grace, we all met them randomly and stayed at there’s garden tenting, giving a real sens to the kiwi kindness and hospitality. They shared amazing story, tips and advise of the area, we had a tour in a fireman truck, assist to a blessing in Maori... .
We felt very special during this trip and today we are taking the road again with Omega! God knows what will come along the way, but damn let’s rock it !!! (with insurance this time, as we didn’t go for it at that time and had a crack on the front glass, it end up costing more than the assurance would have) !
Let’s Goooo :)
