All Omega Queenstown rental vehicles are collected from our Airport depot at 202 Hawthorne Drive, Frankton, around 9.4 km away. Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll need to arrange an Uber or taxi to travel there, allowing around 30 minutes for the trip. Our Airport branch is open seven days a week from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with your car ready and waiting. We look forward to seeing you there!

How to Rent a Car in Queenstown

Omega Rental Cars Queenstown is located on Beach Street, right next to some of the most popular hotels in the city centre. We store our fleet at our Queenstown Airport branch on Hawthorne St, open daily from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Rent a car online or pop into our Beach St location for walk-in bookings. You can pay at Beach St first or at our Hawthorne St location when you pick up the car. Please allow approximately 30 minutes for travel, either with an Uber or a taxi to your rental car.

How to Get to Our Queenstown Car Rental Location

Omega Rental Cars Queenstown is conveniently located at 5/93 Beach Street, close to Crowne Plaza Hotel, and just across the road from Steamer Wharf. We’re open seven days a week, with opening times from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. We store the fleet for our car rental company at our Queenstown Airport location on Hawthorne St, just 9.4km away.

You can pick up or drop off your vehicle at our airport branch at any time. We also offer a free shuttle service between our airport depot and the airport terminal during our opening hours. Please note that we do not offer vehicle pick-up or drop-off at our Beach St location; you will need to collect your rental car at our airport location.

Yes, you can pick up or drop off your car rental at our airport location (202 Hawthorne Dr) any time of day. Please note that you’ll need to make your own arrangements to/from the airport.

Yes, you can pick up and drop off your Omega car rental at any of our 10 locations across NZ, including Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland. And, Omega doesn’t charge extra for one-way hires, so you can travel your way without worrying about added fees. Exploring Queenstown & Beyond

1. How do I get from the city centre to Queenstown Airport?

Follow State Highway 6A (Stanley St or Frankton Rd) eastward until you reach the roundabout. Turn right into State Highway 6 (Southern Scenic Rte and Kawarau Rd), then turn left at the next roundabout onto Lucas Pl, where you’ll see the Queenstown Airport terminal building.

To reach Omega’s Queenstown Airport depot to drop off your car, follow State Highway 6A eastward. At the roundabout, continue straight along State Highway 6 (Frankton-Ladies Mile Hwy). Keep going straight along the second roundabout. At the third roundabout, turn right onto Hawthorne Drive. Continue straight for 1km; our depot will be on your left.

2. How do I get from Queenstown to Wanaka?

It takes approximately 1 hour to reach Wanaka from Queenstown. Follow State Highway 6 east to Arrow Junction, then turn onto Crown Range Road. Continue for about 24 km, then follow Cardrona Valley Road for another 24 km to reach Wanaka.
